Thursday 5th, Russia sent a plane to Yemen carrying more than 20 tones of humanitarian aid for the conflict-torn country.
In a statement, Chargé d’affaires of the Russian Embassy to Yemen, Andre Chernobyl, explained that the plane was carrying humanitarian aid for the Yemeni people includes different food and relief materials.
Chernobyl pointed out that Russia is following the events in Yemen and making efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully through the support of UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh efforts.
For his part, Director General of Sana’a International Airport Khalid al-Shayef explained that it is the first Russian plane directly coming from Russia to Sana’a and break the air embargo on Yemen, carrying humanitarian aid and a number of employees from the embassy staff.
